Welcome to the Happy Humber Hounds family! I’m Charlene, and below are my two pups (or sassy assistants) Porsche and Penny. I was born and raised in Toronto and I currently live in the Runnymede/Baby Point community with my boyfriend Dallas. I work locally and travel by foot or bicycle only which means my service area for walks and visits is limited to this neighbourhood. I have over 10 years of animal care experience including previous work at the Toronto Humane Society, the Etobicoke Humane Society and the reptile store Tails and Scales. My dog walking/pet sitting journey started on Rover in 2018 and now I am independently licensed and insured as Happy Humber Hounds. This is my full time home business and my passion, nothing makes me happier! I am home to supervise and care for your dogs all day long but occasionally I do need to step out for scheduled walks or personal errands. In this case I always make sure the dog’s at home are fed, walked and separated using crates, kennels or doggy gates (if needed).

I am pet first aid certified and experienced in administering medication for dogs and cats. I have worked with a variety of different breeds as well as elderly dogs, dogs with physical limitations/disabilities, and dogs that struggle with anxiety and reactivity. I am not a dog trainer but I do have basic training knowledge from my previous work. If your dog needs special arrangements of any kind I will always do my absolute best to accommodate them. Safety is my biggest priority so I personally do not participate in off leash activities or dog parks just as a precaution, but we are well equipped for all-weather walks and at home play. We also have a fenced in patio space for fresh air, water activities and sun bathing in the warmer months. Our apartment is optimized to host up to a maximum of 7 dogs (including mine), with their size and energy levels taken into consideration. Every dog is fed separately and there’s tons of room to play, rest and do their own thing. Sleeping arrangements will vary depending on your dog’s needs/preferences, we have multiple playpen and kennel options as well as dog beds and our couch.
